What could be more fun than creating a quilt that looks like one of your Grandmother’s crocheted afghans without ever picking up a crochet hook!
You will learn how to make a small hexagonal block which is the same as a log cabin, but you will be cutting on a 60-degree angle. You will also learn how to achieve a perfect “Y” seam. In addition, you will be introduced to English Paper Piecing to create the bouquet of flowers in the corner.
Sept 22 – Blue & White Quilts – Winter Village – Edyta Sitar
$99 plus $40 materials fee
This class will be called, “Blue and White Quilts with a focus on “Winter Village”.
Students will not be buying fabric for a whole quilt, they will be purchasing the pattern, and some fabric to make a few blocks, a table runner, or wall hanging in the classroom, and instruction.
Sept 22 – Quilted Embroidery Workshop – Debby Schnabel
$79 plus $20 materials fee
I started with Kantha stitching on my quilts (a simple running stitch) and added a few very simple stitches along the way. Using these simple stitches on a quilt sandwich makes the process of embroidery on quilts simple and most pleasurable.
Participants will learn how to do these simple stitches, and how to combine them to make interesting design elements on their quilts.
Sept 26 – Pets in the Garden – Nancy Brown $99
Come learn how to portray your pet’s features in applique while working on this whimsical 11 x 15″ wall hanging featuring a dog, cat, and bird. I will show you how to change the pattern to look like your own pets. Hand applique techniques will be taught (but you can use your favorite applique method if you prefer). I will also do a demo of how to make a pattern from a photo. All levels welcome.
