Judy Mathieson became interested in quilt making in 1973 and has since lectured and conducted workshops throughout the United States and in Canada, Japan, Australia, Scotland, New Zealand and England.
Her work has won numerous prizes nationally and internationally She and her husband live in Sebastopol,
Mariner's compass quilt designs and their many variations are Judy's specialties. She uses various methods of piecing including freezer paper foundations that eliminate stitching through the paper. She also makes quilts for her own pleasure featuring dogs and sheep since her husband enjoys training his dogs for local sheep herding competitions.

See How We Sew (seehowwesew.wordpress.com) is a collective blog hosted by four experienced craftswomen-Christie Batterman, Laura Nownes, Jennifer Rounds, and Darra Williamson-who share a passion for quilting and other fiber arts. Among them, they've:
• made hundreds of quilts, some of which have won awards at local, regional, and national shows
• written and edited best-selling quilting books and numerous magazine articles
• taught quilting across the US, abroad, and on quilt cruises
• judged quilt shows
• worked at a busy quilt shop
• designed patterns and run their own pattern companies
• headed the editorial department of a major quilt-book publisher.
But most of all, they love to sew and enjoy exploring new ideas through their twice-weekly blog
postings.
Christie, Laura, Jennifer, and Darra will bring a sizeable collection of their unique quilts (and more) to Quilting in the Garden this fall. Be sure to stop by and say "hello!"
