Announcements – Upcoming Community Events

The Livermore Amador Valley Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the Alisal Elementary School multipurpose room, 1454 Santa Rita Road. On October 12th we welcome Joan Morris, newspaper columnist and founder of “Our Garden” a demonstration garden in Walnut Creek. Come to the Northern California Daffodil Society’s Bulb ­Drawing Party on Sunday, October 29th at Alden Lane Nursery from noon to 4 p.m. if you want to add the newest daffodil varieties in your spring garden, while at the same time enjoying an afternoon of meeting new gardening friends? Not a member yet? You can join at the door. Purchase a raffle ticket for a $1 and each time your number is called you can select a bulb. We’ll see you there!

On January 11th, David Rust, president of the North American Mycological Association and co-founder of the Bay Area Mycological Society, will introduce basics about mushrooms and provide a synopsis of mushroom ecology. Join us on February 8th as Jeff Rosendale of Sierra Azul Nursery and Gardens will focus on Mediterranean Mounds, drought tolerant plants as well as use of art work in your garden.
